The Bayesian learning algorithmwas developed by Luke Miller in the late 1990s to improve investmenttiming decisions. Applicable across a range of time frames, the algorithmhas been applied longest to the Bayesian Trade Signal (BTS), a swingtrading system providing long/short signals for a range of ETFs witha target holding period of several days to weeks.
A key aspect of theBayesian learning algorithm and the BTS is the Bayesian Vibration Window, whichis a moment in time that serves as resistance or support in price and thatprovides a high probability of a relative high or low for a trade. Factoringin vibration windows plus the quality of the move and information from optionsprices, the BTS determines the highest-probability direction of the market overthe next 5-15 days.
